A Weekly Content Calendar for a Small YouTube Team
A simple weekly rhythm that keeps ideas, edits, reviews and publishing moving without anyone asking what is due.
A small team does not need a complicated system. It needs a rhythm everyone can predict: what happens on which day, who owns it and where to look when something is late.
Plan in a fixed weekly loop
- Monday: pick the next ideas and confirm the briefs
- Tuesday and Wednesday: shoot and hand footage to the editor
- Thursday: first cut goes to review
- Friday: apply notes, approve and schedule the release
- The following Monday: look at how the last video performed
Your days will differ. What matters is that the loop is the same every week.
Give every video a stage
Track each video through a few stages such as idea, shooting, editing, review, approved and scheduled. A glance at the board should show what is stuck without a meeting.
Put deadlines where people work
Deadlines buried in chat get missed. Attach each date to the project itself, and send reminders to the person who owns the next step.
Reserve space for sponsors and shorts
Sponsored videos have fixed dates and extra approvals, so block them on the calendar first. Plan the clips you will cut from each long video at the same time as the release.
Weekly rhythm checklist
- Next week's videos have a brief and an owner
- Every project shows its current stage
- Deadlines are attached to the project, not to a chat
- Sponsored dates are blocked before anything else
- Last week's results are reviewed before planning the next
